The bans apply to all motor vehicles passing through Tirol and are in effect on some regional roads and other roads of lower categories all Saturdays and Sundays. They have been introduced by the Innsbruck district authority and the city’s municipal council.
The bans are meant to prevent the notorious practice of drivers avoiding motorway traffic jams by using alternative routes. As a result, after leaving the motorway between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. vehicles passing through Tirol, including cars and motorcycles, are not allowed to use local routes to avoid tailbacks, except for deliveries to local businesses. The bans apply from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday in both directions, and are planned to remain in effect until September 15th. Drivers are informed about the ban immediately after leaving a motorway and directed back to the motorway.

Ab sofort gelten an Wochenenden Fahrverbote auf mehreren Landesstraßen bzw. dem niederrangigen Straßennetz in Tirol. Dies ist eine Maßnahme um dem massiven Ausweichverkehr bei Stausituationen auf der Autobahn entgegenzuwirken. Gesetzlich basiert diese Maßnahme auf Verordnungen von BH Innsbruck und Stadtmagistrat Innsbruck.
Das Fahrverbot gilt für alle Kraftfahrzeuge, die sich in Tirol auf Durchreise befinden – also auch PKW und Motorräder. Der Ziel-, Quell- und Anrainerverkehr ist von den Fahrverboten ausgenommen
Demnach werden KFZ-Lenker von 7 bis 19 Uhr, sofern sie nicht dem Ziel-, Quell und Anrainerverkehr zugerechnet werden können, keine Möglichkeit haben, örtliche Stauumfahrungen vorzunehmen. Diese Fahrverbote gelten jeweils von Samstag 7 Uhr bis Sonntag 19 Uhr in beide Fahrtrichtungen und sind vorerst mit Sonntag, den 15. September 2019, befristet. Autobahnabfahrende werden dann unmittelbar nach der Abfahrt durch eine entsprechende Beschilderung im Bereich der Landesstraßen auf das Fahrverbot hingewiesen und wieder auf die Autobahn geleitet.

Following continuing problems associated with a high volume of lorries coming to petrol stations in Fritzens/Wattens and Innsbruck-Süd and the resulting disruptions to local traffic and the provision of supplies the authorities have introduced additional driving bans for vehicles travelling through the Brenner Pass and attempting to leave the motorway or the state road (to refuel or rest).
Brennerstraße B 182
In Innsbruck Süd the ban applies from 1st of August in both directions from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Mondays to Saturdays.
A 12 motorway
At Fritzens/Wattens the ban applies from 1st of August on motorway exits in both directions from 6:00 am to 10:00 am, Mondays to Saturdays.
by Tirol: Zusätzliche Fahrverbote ab dem 01.08.2019
Für Fahrzeuge über 12 m Länge.
Aufgrund der enorm hohen Anzahl an LKW, welche die Tankstellen bei Fritzens/Wattens und Innsbruck-Süd anfahren, kam es in der Vergangenheit immer wieder zu gefährlichen Situationen und massiven Beeinträchtigungen der Verkehrs- und Versorgungssicherheit.
Seit 1. August treten deshalb Verordnungen in Kraft, welche es LKW über zwölf Meter Länge samt Anhänger untersagen, von der Autobahn ab- und über die Landesstraßen zu den Tankstellen zuzufahren.
Brennerstraße B 182
In Innsbruck-Süd gilt das Verbot vom 1. August 2019 bis 14. Januar 2020 in beide Richtungen von Montag bis Samstag von 7.00 bis 18.00 Uhr.
Die Autobahn A12
In Fritzens/Wattens gelten die Verbote von Montag bis Samstag in der Zeit von 6 bis 10 Uhr.
Ausgenommen ist lediglich der Ziel- und Quellverkehr.
by Deutschland: Rheinbrücke in Krefeld wird für Lkw gesperrt
Die Sperrung gilt für Lastwagen ab 7,5 Tonnen Gesamtgewicht ab diesem Freitag, 13 September, ab 17 Uhr.
Grund der Maßnahme sind kurzfristig entdeckte schwere Schäden am Beton der Fahrbahn, auf der Unterseite der Brücke. Ein Sannierungskonzept soll bis Mitte Oktober erarbeitet werden.

With the winter season 2019/2020 Alpine symbol-marked tires are becoming more relevant in several countries. by Tirol: Saturday truck driving ban calendar for winter 2020
Because the extended weekend HGV driving ban last winter proved to be an effective measure of counteracting heavy Saturday traffic or the coincidence of seasonal holiday and freight traffic, the state of Tyrol has submitted a new list of Saturdays in the winter of 2020 to be approved by the Ministry of Transport (BMVIT). The winter driving ban calendar for 2020 will be announced in the Federal Law Gazette after receiving BMVIT’s approval.
From 4 January to 14 March 2020, the HGV ban will be in effect on 11 Saturdays from 7 am to 3 pm on the A 12 Inntal motorway and A 13 Brenner Pass motorway. The driving prohibition on these days will continue by virtue of the regular weekend driving ban.
The decision about the period when the extended driving ban should be inroduced was based on evaluations from the previous year and findings of the police. Last winter, for example, 2,500 fewer trucks were recorded, thereby reducing the risk of a traffic collapse on the route from Kufstein to the Brenner Pass. As a result, many cases of heavy congestion and dangerous situations on motorway entrances and exits were avoided.
The Saturday ban from 7 am to 3 pm applies to trucks over 7.5 tons on the A12 and A13 bound for Germany or Italy, or if the destination has to be reached via Germany and Italy. After that time the regular weekend driving ban comes into effect. Trucks delivering goods to destinations in Tyrol are exempt from the ban, as in the previous year.
The extended driving ban will apply on the following Saturdays in 2020 from 7 am to 3 pm:

Weil das ausgedehnte LKW-Wochenendfahrverbot sich im vergangenen Winter als wirksames Mittel erwiesen hat, um dem starken Verkehrsaufkommen an Samstagen bzw. einem gänzlichen Aufeinandertreffen des Reise- und Güterverkehrs positiv entgegenzuwirken, hat das Land Tirol nun die Samstage für den Winter 2020 beim Verkehrsministerium (BMVIT) zur Genehmigung vorgelegt.
Der Winterfahrverbotskalender 2020 wird im Bundesgesetzblatt bekanntgegeben, nachdem die Zustimmung des BMVIT erfolgte.
Von 4. Januar bis 14. März 2020 soll das Fahrverbot für LKW an insgesamt elf Samstagen von 7 bis 15 Uhr auf der A 12 Inntalautobahn bzw. A 13 Brennerautobahn gelten. Anschließend greift das reguläre Wochenendfahrverbot.
Beim Definieren des Fahrverbotszeitraumes wurden Auswertungen aus dem vergangenen Jahr sowie die Erkenntnisse der Polizei berücksichtigt. So waren es im vergangenen Winter 2.500 LKW weniger, wodurch das Risiko für einen Verkehrskollaps auf der Strecke von Kufstein bis an den Brenner vermindert wurde. Dadurch wurden starke Stauungen sowie gefährliche Situationen auf den Auf- und Abfahrten weitgehend vermieden.
Beim verlängerten Wochenendfahrverbot, das von 7 bis 15 Uhr gilt, dürfen keine LKW über 7,5 Tonnen entlang der A12 und A13 fahren – sofern das Fahrtziel in Deutschland oder Italien liegt bzw. wenn Fahrtziele über Deutschland und Italien erreicht werden sollen. Anschließend beginnt das reguläre Wochenend-Fahrverbot. LKW-Fahrten mit einem Ziel in Tirol sind vom Fahrverbot, wie auch im Vorjahr, ausgenommen.
Das verlängerte Fahrverbot gilt an folgenden Samstagen im Jahr 2020 von 7 bis 15 Uhr:
by Smart border in France will speed up customs procedures after Brexit
In anticipation of the re-establishment of the border between the UK and the EU, French Customs has developed an information system allowing businesses to automate the border crossing by HGVs. The system, called “Smart border” is designed to maintain smooth circulation of goods, to enable early completion of customs procedures for import and export and to facilitate the exchange of information between hauliers, shipping companies, the Eurotunnel operator and customs authorities.
4 steps of the transit process
The entire process involves early completion of customs procedures before arriving at the border by providing the driver with the bar code of the customs declaration.
The transit process consists of four steps:
1. preparation of goods by the exporter/importer, who is obliged to provide the haulier with all the information required to submit a customs declaration (transit declaration and pre-departure declaration).
2. preparation of the transit or pre-departure declaration by the customs declarant
3. shipping of the goods by the dispatcher, who is responsible for sending the declaration
4. presentation of the documentation by the haulier. At this stage customs officers, in spite of the bar code attached to the registration plate will ask the driver to answer a few questions: is the lorry loaded or is it running empty? Are the goods subject to sanitary and phytosanitary requirements; does the cargo contain fish products or is it transported under the TIR carnet?
