Highways England will be undertaking essential maintenance work to resurface sections of the A3, northbound and southbound carriageways near Godalming (Surrey), to ensure the network remains in a safe and serviceable condition.
25th February – 8th March
Southbound carriageway from the A31 Hogs Back to the A283 Milford Junction with a clearly signed diversion in place via the A31 and A325.
11th-20th March
Northbound Carriageway from the A325 Longmoor junction to the A31 Hogs Back, with a clearly signed diversion in place via the A325 and A31.
21st–27th March
Southbound carriageway from A31 Hogs Back to the A283 Milford junction, with a clearly signed diversion in place via the A31 and A325.
by England: overnight closures on M25 Dartford Crossing in March
Sections of the M25 at the Dartford Crossing will be closed overnight for the majoirty of March for planned maintenance work to take place.
The following will affect drivers travelling on the M25 anticlockwise between junctions 1A for Swanscombe to junction 31 for Lakeside for planned emergency road works.
10pm on March 4 and 5.30am on March 5
March 4- March 8: 10pm and 5.30am.
11pm on 8 March to 6am on 9 March.
March 11- March 15: 10pm and 5.30am
11pm on March 15 to 6am on March 16.
March 18- March 22: 10pm and 5.30am
11pm on March 22 to 6am on March 23.
March 25- March 29: 10pm and 5.30am
11pm on March 29 to 6am on March 30.

by From today on: HGV traffic restrictions in London
The restrictions are associated with the introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), which starts operating today, with the goal of improving air quality. The zone can only be accessed be vehicles that meet the more stringent emission standards or after paying a daily charge.
The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) replaces the T-Charge. The zone operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year, within the same area as the current Congestion Charging Zone (CCZ).
Which vehicles are affected:
• Cars (petrol and diesel)
• Vans, minibuses and lighter specialist vehicles
• Motorcycles, mopeds and more
• Lorries, coaches and other larger vehicles
All vehicles in the last category have to comply with the EURO VI standard, otherwise they will face a penalty charge of £1000 (£500 if paid within 14 days).
The daily charge is:
£12.50 for most vehicle types, including cars, motorcycles and vans (up to and including 3.5 tonnes)
£100 for heavier vehicles, including lorries (over 3.5 tonnes) and buses/coaches (over 5 tonnes).
by One on-board unit compatible with 9 toll systems in 8 European countries
German Office for Goods Transport (BAG) has officially approved the on-board unit UTA One® for registering toll payments in the German Toll Collect system.
This will enable the company to expand within several weeks the application range of UTA One® – an interoperable toll solution which was developed specially for the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS). The device can be supports 8 toll services in Austria, Belgium (including Liefkenshoek tunnel), Poland (A4), Spain, France, Italy and Portugal.
“We are happy that our on-board unit has finally been approved for paying toll charges in the German toll system. This means that UTA One® can now support nine toll services in 8 European countries.
UTA One® has a big potential; its services will continue to expand to other European countries once their toll systems become part of the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS). The German toll system can be activated on the device via over-the-air update on demand, said Volker Huber, UTA’s CEO.
by Additional traffic bans on the Brenner motorway
In view of the holiday HGV traffic bans in Germany and Austria, that are in force on May 1, the Day of Assumption (May 30), Whitsunday (June 10) and Corpus Christi (June 20), similar traffic bans will also apply in Italy on the Brenner motorway from Sterzing/Vipiteno to the Italian-Austrian border.
The ban applies to HGVs with a maximum authorised mass of over 7.5 tonnes, travelling north along A 22 from Vipiteno (Sterzing) to the Italian-Austrian border on the following days:
▪ Wednesday, May 1, from 00:00 to 09:00 on the northbound lanes of the A 22 motorway from Sterzing (Vipiteno) to the border;
▪ Thursday, May 30 (the Feast of the Ascension), from 00:00 to 10:00 p.m. on the northbound lanes of A 22 from Vipiteno (Sterzing) to the border;
▪ Monday, June 10 (Whitsunday/Pentecost), from 00:00 to 10:00 p.m. on the northbound lanes of A 22 from Sterzing to the border;
▪ Thursday, June 20 (Corpus Christi), from 00:00 to 10:00 p.m. on the northbound lanes of A 22 from Vipiteno to the border.

Odcinek będzie zamknięty od 22:00 w piątek do 5:00 rano w poniedziałek.
Zakłócenia w ruchu związane są z całkowitym zamknięciem A1 w obu kierunkach między skrzyżowaniem Köln-Nord i węzłem Leverkusen-West. Powodem zamknięcia są prace wyburzeniowe na moście w pobliżu Kolonii-Niehl oraz remont mostu na Renie w Leverkusen.
by Serious traffic disruptions expected in Italy
A strike at all Italian ports has been planned to take place on May 23.
Italian labour unions of transport employees (F.I.L.T.-C.G.I.L, FIT-CISL and Uiltrasporti) have called for a 24-hour national strike to protest against a decision to stop negotiations on the renewal of a collective labour agreement for the transport sector. In particular, unions object to cost cuts at the ports, which have a negative impact on port employees, both financially and in terms of working conditions and safety.
by Summer HGV traffic restrictions in Ukraine
The bans apply to HGVs with a GVW over 24 t and an axle load of over 7 t, with the exception of vehicles carrying dangerous live animals, perishable cargo, dangerous goods.
Additional road signs will be installed on public roads to inform drivers about the restrictions. The bans will be enforced by the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety and the national police.
by Tirol extends HGV traffic restrictions – longer tailbacks expected
The measures will be introduced on days following and preceding two upcoming public holidays: Pentacost (Sunday 9 June, Monday 10 June plus the following three days) and Corpus Christi (the whole week including the holiday on 20 June).
The restrictions will apply to southbound lorries crossing the Austrian border on the A93 motorway in the Inn valley. Any lorries over the limit of 300 vehicles per hour will be slowed down or stopped if necessary.
