
Blockades and difficulties at Slovak border crossings
After warning protests in Bratislava, lorry drivers are starting to block border crossings.
Through these protest actions they want to highlight the problems faced by their sector. For months they have been asking the government for a 30% reduction of the excise tax on fuel for a transitional period of 6 months, following the example of Poland and Hungary, a permanent reduction of the road tax by 30%, a permanent refund of the excise duty on fuels amounting to € 38 for every 1000 liters purchased, a 30% reduction of road tolls for a transitional period of 6 months, and a permanent reduction of new tolls by 28% starting from 2023 for domestic carriers.
BORDER CROSSINGS CLOSED to freight transport:
Czech Republic: D2 Brodské – Břeclav in the direction from the Czech Republic to Slovakia.
Interval blocking: 4 hours of blocking, half an hour of free traffic
