Hungary restores the weekend and holiday HGV traffic ban
According the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, from the weekend of November 28-29, the general regulations for HGV traffic in Hungary are restored, which means that heavy goods vehicles will not be allowed to travel on national roads from 22:00 on Saturday to 22:00 on Sunday.
The winter derogation (from 04 November to 01 March) from the general HGV traffic ban still applies, enabling Euro-3 lorries (or higher levels) to perform international transport operations.
The ban has been suspended over the last two weekends but given the fact that traffic in the Advent season is likely to increase, the restoration of the obligatory weekend rest is a justified measure for the sake of better road safety.
