
Requirements for drivers entering Germany
Listed below are guidelines for professional drivers entering Germany, where a new registration system has been set up with special regulations and partial epidemiological exemptions for professional drivers.
1. Drivers who have spent 10 days in a “risk area” before entering Germany
❎ Destination traffic: no prior registration required.
❎ no requirement of a negative COVID-19 test.
❎ Transit: No registration or negative test required.
2. Drivers who have spent 10 days in a “high incidence area” prior to entering Germany
❎ Destination traffic: Prior registration is required. Register onlinebefore entering the country. The digital form is available in multiple languages.
❎ negative Covid-19 test is not required for stays not exceeding 72 hours.
❎ Transit: No registration or negative test required.
3. Drivers who have spent 10 days in an area where the new Covid-19 variant has appeared (currently Great Britain and Ireland) before entering Germany:
❎ destination traffic: Prior registration is required. Register online before entering the country. The digital form is available in many languages.
❎ A negative COVID-19 test required
❎ Transit: prior registration required. Register online before entering the country. The digital form is available in many languages. No COVID-19 negative test requirement.
