Germany has extended the network of roads for megatrucks
Currently the network extends over 15 (out of 16) states (Länder).
With the acceptance of the 8th amendment to the regulation on the nation-wide field trial with longer truck combinations, the positive network of roads where megatrucks are permitted has been updated and extended.
For the first time road sections have been made available by the states of Rheinland-Pfalz and das Saarland. Also, wide use of megatrucks is now also permitted in Saxony-Anhalt. In addition, North Rhine-Westphalia, also for the first time, has opened selected road section to all kinds of HGVs including megatrucks.
