Posting drivers to Portugal
Portuguese regulations on minimal wage in the transport sector will apply exclusively to cabotage operations.
The regulations will not apply to transit and international transport of goods or passengers.
The vehicle in which the freight is being transported can be indicated as the place of work.
Each transport operation will have to be reported to appropriate authorities and the carrier will be obliged to nominate its representative in Portugal, who will be responsible for contacts with inspection agencies. The posted driver can act as the carrier’s representative provided they have the requirement documents.
