Italy: a revision of traffic ban regulations for lorries
Although all traffic bans planned for 2018 remain unaffected, the revised regulations introduce an exception for drivers returning to their firms’ headquarters.
The exception applies to lorries travelling through uninhabited areas (Article 3.2 b of the traffic ban calendar) and returning to their base (HQ). The base is defined as the firm where the lorry was registered for the first or second time. This fact has to be confirmed by a valid registration certificate, which has to be submitted at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Moreover, the remaining distance to be covered on the return journey cannot exceed 50 km.
