No more overtaking on the D1 in Czechia
On Saturday, November 11, an overtaking ban for lorries with a MAM over 3.5 t was introduced in the Czech Republic, which also applies to the D1 motorway.
The ban is in effect from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with the exception of the South Moravian region, where it starts at 5:00 AM. Lorries are allowed to overtake other vehicles on three-lane motorway sections but only using the middle lane. Drivers who fail to comply with the ban can be punished with fine of CZK 5,000-10,000 (200-400 euro) and 7 penalty points.
