One-day traffic restrictions in France, road closure in Austria, Russian temperature-related traffic ban
France
On 6 June a number of events will be held in the area around Caen to mark the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings (D-Day). Therefore, in the whole department of Calvados, there will be a traffic ban for all vehicles with a GVW above 7.5t and all vehicles carrying dangerous goods from 5 am to 11 pm.
Austria
Owing to road damage and numerous fallen trees, a section of B 180 Reschenstraße will be closed between Pfunds/Kajetanbrücke and Nauders from 3rd to 28th June. All vehicles, except buses over 13 metres and vehicles with trailers over 6.5 metres long, including semi-trucks, have to use a diversion along B 185 Martinsbrucker Straße and B 184 Engadiner Straße. Because of tight bends along the diversion route, during the closure, longer vehicles have to choose alternative routes, e.g. over the Brenner Pass.
Russia
By virtue of Art.30 of the Federal Act of 8 November 2007, in periods of adverse weather conditions, vehicle traffic on Russian roads can be temporarily restricted. In the period between 20th May and 31st August, heavy goods vehicles are banned from driving on all federal motorways covered with concrete asphalt when the air temperature exceeds 32°C. When the temporary ban is in effect, HGVs are only allowed to drive between 10:00 pm and 10:00 am.
