
Slovakia tightens border controls – longer queues for HGVs
In an effort to limit the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary have introduced temporary sanitary border checks, which are already affecting traffic flow and causing delays to road freight transport.
Czechia and Austria tighten border controls – new rules for lorries
On March 27, Slovakia introduced obligatory vehicle disinfection using special pools and spray devices. The measure causes traffic jams and delays at the borders, slows down the flow of traffic entering and leaving Slovakia. Drivers are advised to keep track of the situation on the Stellacentra website and plan their routes well in advance.
Austria closes 23 border crossings
Since 5 April, Austria has temporarily closed the following 23 border crossings with Slovakia and Hungary

Temporary reintroduction of border controls
Slovakia has also decided to reintroduce border checks along its border with Hungary from April 8 to May 7, from 00:00 to 24:00. The following border crossings will be closed starting from 0:00 on April 8:
