Long-term traffic restrictions have been introduced on one of the key transport routes crossing the Carpathians in Romania. From 16 March to 15 June 2026, daily closures for trucks and periodic disruptions for other vehicles will apply on national road DN7 between R\u00e2mnicu V\u00e2lcea and Ve\u0219tem due to slope stabilization works.<\/div>\n<\/h1>\n

The information was provided by the INFOTRAFIC Center of the Romanian General Inspectorate of Police, which stated that the decision was made with the joint agreement of the road administration and the infrastructure operator.<\/p>\n

During the works, traffic for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight above 7.5 tonnes will be completely closed on the DN7 section between R\u00e2mnicu V\u00e2lcea and Ve\u0219tem. The ban will apply from Monday to Saturday between 08:00 and 17:30. During this time, freight transport will have to use designated detour routes.<\/p>\n

On the sections R\u00e2mnicu V\u00e2lcea \u2192 work area and Sibiu\/Boi\u021ba \u2192 work area, traffic will continue according to the applicable regulations.<\/p>\n

Vehicles with a GVW up to 7.5 tonnes will also face disruptions. On sections under construction, between C\u0103ciulata and C\u00e2inenii Mari in V\u00e2lcea county, traffic may be temporarily stopped or restricted during the same hours (08:00\u201317:30, Monday\u2013Saturday). During works, especially when removing rock debris from the roadway, traffic will periodically be directed alternately in one lane under traffic control supervision.<\/p>\n

During the most dangerous operations, such as removal of rock blocks or slope cleaning, the road will be temporarily closed for short periods:
\n– up to 30 minutes from Monday to Friday,
\n– up to 15 minutes on Saturdays.<\/p>\n

After each closure, traffic will be restored depending on current traffic conditions.<\/p>\n

Works will cover the following sections:
\n– km 198+200 \u2013 207+000
\n– km 216+000 \u2013 219+000
\n– km 224+000 \u2013 227+300
\n– km 228+000 \u2013 233+200<\/p>\n

The works include:
\n– cleaning and cutting of rocky slopes,
\n– removal of unstable rock blocks,
\n– installation of anchored safety nets,
\n– installation of drilled anchors,
\n– repair or replacement of gabion structures,
\n– construction of drainage systems.<\/p>\n

The road administrator also announced that restrictions will not be introduced on Sundays, public holidays, or the days preceding holidays, unless urgent safety works are required.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
