On the first weekend of December 2025, the A7 motorway, together with the key Elbtunnel, will be completely closed for 55 hours.<\/div>\n<\/h1>\n<p style=\"font-size:1.1rem\">The full closure will apply in both directions on the section between Hamburg-Heimfeld and Hamburg-Stellingen &#8211; from Friday, 5 December at 22:00 until Monday, 8 December at 05:00. Detours have been prepared for the duration of the closure, but authorities warn of significant disruptions and extended travel times.<\/p>\n<p><b>Recommended detours for transit (freight) traffic:<\/b><br \/>\n\u27a1\ufe0f Northbound (A7 \u2192 Flensburg):<br \/>\nExit onto the A1 (Horster Dreieck) towards L\u00fcbeck<br \/>\nAt the Bargteheide junction, switch to the A21 towards Kiel<br \/>\nContinue via the B205 to the Neum\u00fcnster-S\u00fcd junction<br \/>\nRejoin the A7<\/p>\n<p>\u27a1\ufe0f Southbound (A7 \u2192 Hanover):<br \/>\nMirror route:<br \/>\nNeum\u00fcnster-S\u00fcd exit \u2192 B205 \u2192 Wahlstedt \u2192 A21 \u2192 Bargteheide \u2192 A1 \u2192 Horster Dreieck \u2192 A7<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adac.de\/news\/elbtunnel-vollsperrung-a7\/\" class=\"ui circular right labeled icon button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Detour Map <i class=\"ui right arrow icon\"><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Delays should also be expected on the detour routes. The tunnel closure is necessary due to the installation of new overhead traffic signs and the implementation of traffic control software. These works are part of a large-scale A7 modernisation project, which includes expanding the motorway to eight lanes and connecting it with the A26.<br \/>\nThe A7 is Germany\u2019s most important north\u2013south corridor and one of the busiest motorway sections in the country &#8211; in some places carrying more than 130,000 vehicles per day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hamburg is preparing for major traffic disruptions.
