Due to a heatwave, the night truck traffic ban for vehicles over 7.5 tonnes GVW will be temporarily lifted in Hungary from Saturday to Sunday night (9\u201310 August 2025). The decision was made by the Ministry of Construction and Transport at the request of the Hungarian road transport association MKFE.<\/div>\n<\/h1>\n

The aim is to ensure continuity of deliveries and protect cargo from damage caused by high temperatures. Thanks to the night \u201cfree movement window,\u201d transport companies will be able to plan trips more flexibly.<\/p>\n

Traffic restriction schedule:<\/b>
\n\u274c Saturday, 9 August: ban from 15:00 to 22:00
\n\u274c Sunday, 10 August: ban from 06:00 to 22:00
\nDuring other hours, trucks may operate on the entire national road network.<\/p>\n

In Hungary, permanent exemptions apply to the transport of:
\n\u25fe live animals, fresh milk, and dairy products,
\n\u25fe fresh and frozen meat, bakery products, eggs, vegetables, fruits, and cereals,
\n\u25fe other perishable foodstuffs (with mandatory vehicle marking and transport documents).<\/p>\n

Humanitarian transports (minimum Euro 3) are also exempt, and in July and August \u2013 provided they avoid certain routes listed in government regulations.<\/p>\n

Trucks returning from abroad may, in July and August, travel from the state border to the company\u2019s base in Hungary or to the first unloading point during the truck traffic ban. However, during weekend or holiday restrictions, they may not use the following 19 road sections:
\na) M7 motorway \u2013 entire length
\nb) National road no. 2 \u2013 from Budapest to km 39+150, and M2 motorway \u2013 from the junction with roads no. 2 and 12 to Parassapuszta
\nc) Expressway 2\/A \u2013 entire length
\nd) National road no. 6 \u2013 between Duna\u00fajv\u00e1ros and Budapest
\ne) National road no. 7
\nf) National road no. 10 \u2013 between Dorog and Budapest
\ng) National road no. 11 \u2013 between Esztergom and Budapest
\nh) National road no. 12 \u2013 entire length
\ni) Road no. 1201 \u2013 entire length
\nj) National road no. 51 \u2013 between the junction with road no. 510 and D\u00f6ms\u00f6d
\nk) National road no. 71 \u2013 entire length
\nl) National road no. 76 \u2013 between junctions with roads no. 71 and 7, and between Zalaap\u00e1ti and road no. 71
\nm) National road no. 55 \u2013 between Als\u00f3ny\u00e9k and Baja
\nn) National road no. 82 \u2013 from road no. 8 to Veszpr\u00e9mvars\u00e1ny
\no) National road no. 84 \u2013 from S\u00fcmeg to road no. 71
\np) National road no. 33 \u2013 from Dorm\u00e1nd to Debrecen
\nq) National road no. 86 \u2013 between J\u00e1nossomorja and Nemesb\u0151d, and between K\u00f6rmend and Zalabaksa
\nr) National road no. 37 \u2013 between Miskolc and S\u00e1toralja\u00fajhely
