{"id":24025,"date":"2025-07-18T00:00:18","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T00:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.2308.html"},"modified":"2025-07-18T00:00:18","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T00:00:18","slug":"hungary-nighttime-truck-ban-lifted-due-to-heatwave-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/avicegroup.com\/de\/hungary-nighttime-truck-ban-lifted-due-to-heatwave-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Hungary: Nighttime truck ban lifted due to heatwave"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"ui header\">\n<div class=\"sub header\">The Hungarian Ministry of Construction and Transport, following a request from the national road hauliers\u2019 association MKFE, has temporarily relaxed the weekend truck traffic ban for 5\u20136 July due to the ongoing heatwave.<\/div>\n<\/h1>\n<p style=\"font-size:1.1rem\">The decision was made in consultation with industry stakeholders and aims to ensure the uninterrupted flow of goods. As a result, transport companies will have greater flexibility in scheduling their operations.<\/p>\n<p>Although the ban formally remains in place, a nighttime exemption window has been introduced during which trucks are allowed to move freely. This temporary measure is intended to ease the burden of summer restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>In practice, this means that the driving ban for vehicles over 7.5 tonnes gross weight (GVW) will apply as follows this weekend:<br \/>\n\u274c Saturday, 5 July: from 15:00 to 22:00<br \/>\n\u274c Sunday, 6 July: from 06:00 to 22:00<\/p>\n<p><b>General exemptions from Hungary\u2019s truck traffic restrictions:<\/b><br \/>\nDuring the enforcement of the \u201ckamionstop\u201d (truck ban), the following vehicles are completely exempt:<br \/>\nVehicles transporting:<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f live animals<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f fresh milk and dairy products<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f fresh or frozen meat and meat products<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f fresh bread<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f perishable foodstuffs<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f eggs<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f fresh (unprocessed) vegetables and fruits<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f grains and grain products<br \/>\n\u25aa\ufe0f Empty vehicles: en route to pick up the above cargo or returning from delivery (provided the vehicle is purpose-built for transporting such goods)<\/p>\n<p>\u2757<b>IMPORTANT:<\/b> Additional summer exemption for returning trucks<br \/>\nThroughout July and August, trucks returning from abroad are allowed to travel from the national border to their company base in Hungary or to their first unloading point, even during the general truck ban.<\/p>\n<p>However, this exemption does not apply on the following 19 specific road sections during weekends and public holidays:<\/p>\n<p>a) M7 motorway \u2013 along its entire length<br \/>\nb) Main Road 2 \u2013 from Budapest to 39+150\u202fkm, and M2 \u2013 from the junction with Roads 2 and 12 to Parassapuszta<br \/>\nc) Expressway 2\/A \u2013 entire section<br \/>\nd) Main Road 6 \u2013 between Duna\u00fajv\u00e1ros and Budapest<br \/>\ne) Main Road 7<br \/>\nf) Main Road 10 \u2013 between Dorog and Budapest<br \/>\ng) Main Road 11 \u2013 between Esztergom and Budapest<br \/>\nh) Main Road 12 \u2013 entire section<br \/>\ni) Road 1201 \u2013 entire section<br \/>\nj) Main Road 51 \u2013 between the junction with Road 510 and D\u00f6ms\u00f6d<br \/>\nk) Main Road 71 \u2013 entire section<br \/>\nl) Main Road 76 \u2013 between junctions with Roads 71 and 7, and between Zalaap\u00e1ti and Road 71<br \/>\nm) Main Road 55 \u2013 between Als\u00f3ny\u00e9k and Baja<br \/>\nn) Main Road 82 \u2013 from Road 8 to Veszpr\u00e9mvars\u00e1ny<br \/>\no) Main Road 84 \u2013 from S\u00fcmeg to Road 71<br \/>\np) Main Road 33 \u2013 from Dorm\u00e1nd to Debrecen<br \/>\nq) Main Road 86 \u2013 between J\u00e1nossomorja and Nemesb\u0151d, and between K\u00f6rmend and Zalabaksa<br \/>\nr) Main Road 37 \u2013 between Miskolc and S\u00e1toralja\u00fajhely<br \/>\ns) Main Road 38 \u2013 between the junction with Road 37 and Rakamaz<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hungarian Ministry of Construction and Transport, following a request from the national road hauliers\u2019 association MKFE, has temporarily relaxed the weekend truck traffic ban for 5\u20136 July due to the ongoing heatwave.
