Each closure will last for 9 consecutive days and nights, with the affected section stretching from Veenendaal to Utrecht (approximately 30 km) \u2013 one of the most frequently used corridors by freight carriers transiting through the Netherlands.<\/div>\n<\/h1>\n<p style=\"font-size:1.1rem\">Rijkswaterstaat \u2013 the Dutch road authority \u2013 has announced a major resurfacing project. The old asphalt will be completely removed and replaced with new pavement using so-called &#8220;silent asphalt&#8221; technology, aimed at reducing noise levels in the surrounding areas. Dutch authorities are already warning of severe traffic congestion and delays that may extend travel times by more than an hour.<\/p>\n<h2>A12 Closure Dates<\/h2>\n<p>\n\u274c May 9 (Friday), 8:00 PM \u2013 May 19 (Monday), 5:00 AM<br \/>\n\u274c August 22 (Friday), 8:00 PM \u2013 September 1 (Monday), 5:00 AM<\/p>\n<p>Plans for the closure of the opposite direction (Utrecht \u2192 Veenendaal) are still under development, but similar disruptions can be expected along that stretch as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dutch A12 motorway, one of the key routes for international transport, will be completely closed twice in 2025.
