New pandemic rules for transport in Italy
Pandemic safety protocols for the transport sector have been adjusted.
Following an amendment to the decree issued on March 2, 2021, the regulations concerning lorry drivers have been revised. Now they are not allowed to leave their vehicles without a mask. When presenting shipping documents and during loading and unloading operations, they should avoid direct contact with on-site personnel. In rooms, they should maintain a minimum distance of 2 meters from other people.
Drivers using PPE may enter premises of other companies’, but are obliged to comply with regulations for visitors. Drivers are entitled to use company restrooms. Companies have to ensure adequate and daily disinfection of rooms and provide products for cleaning and disinfection.
If a given region of Italy is located in a white or yellow zone, it is allowed to hold in-person training sessions provided that safety rules are observed.
