
France – derogations from HGV driving bans
Derogations have been introduced in connection with the detection of bird flu outbreaks in western France, in the departments of Vendee, Loire Atlantic, Maine-et-Loire, Ille-et-Vilaine, Morbihan, Finistère and Seine-Maritime.
The temporary derogation from the driving ban apply to vehicles carrying equipment, materials, products or vehicles necessary for the slaughter of poultry on the following days:
❌ From 10:00 PM on Saturday, April 16 to 10:00 PM on Monday 18 April,
❌ From 10:00 PM on Saturday, April 23 to 10:00 PM on Sunday, April 24,
❌ From 10:00 PM on Saturday, April 30 to 10:00 PM on Sunday, May 1,
❌ From 10:00 PM on Saturday, May 7 to 10:00 PM on Sunday, May 8,
❌ From 10:00 PM on Saturday, May 14 to 10:00 PM on Sunday, May 15,
❌ From 10:00 PM on Saturday, May 21 to 10:00 PM on Sunday, May 22,
❌ from 10:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25 to 10:00 PM on Thursday, May 26,
❌ From 10:00 PM on Saturday, May 28 to 10:00 PM on Sunday, May 29.
Empty return journeys are also exempt from the driving ban. In the event of an inspection, proof must be provided that the vehicle meets the conditions of the derogation.
