
Spain – Catalonia to introduce HGV traffic ban on N-340 and N-240
According to one proposal, HGV traffic is to be diverted to toll roads, autopistas AP7 and AP2.
The proposed ban would apply to HGVs with four or more axes (over 26 tons) on the following sections:
– N-340 from kilometric point PK 1,058 in Alcanar to PK 1122 in L’Hospitalet de L’Infant. The recommended diversion via AP-7 between the junction in Castellón and junction 38 in L’Hospitalet de L’Infant;
– N-340 from PK 1,176 in Altafulla to PK 1,209 in Vilafranca del Penedès. The recommended diversion via AP-7 between junction 32 (Altafulla) and junction 30 (Vilafranca Sud);
– N-240 from PK 60 in Borges Blanques to PK 36,5 in Montblanc. The recommended diversion via AP-2 between junction 7 (Borges Blanques) a junction 10 (Pla de Santa Maria).
