
Additional HGV driving bans in Bulgaria
Due to the upcoming public holidays and the expected heavy traffic, the Bulgarian road infrastructure authority has introduced additional driving bans for HGVs with a maximum autharised mass of more than 12 t on the following days:
September 3 (Friday) on the following road sections:
• the Trakia highway, Sofia – Plovdiv section (Plovdiv North junction, km 126 + 281), in the direction of Plovdiv, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.;
• the Hemus highway, Sofia section (km 0 + 000) – junction to the roundabout with road I-4 (km 87 + 800) in the direction of Varna, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Road I-1, Blagoevgrad – Kresna section in both directions, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
September 6th and 12th on the following road sections:
• The Trakia Highway, Plovdiv section (Plovdiv North junction, km 126 + 281) – Sofia, in the direction of Sofia, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• The Hemus highway, the section from the roundabout with road I-4 (km 87 + 800) to Sofia in the direction of Sofia, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.;
• Road I-1, the Blagoevgrad – Kresna section in both directions, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The above-mentioned driving bans do not apply to vehicles that transport perishable food and temperature-controlled goods, live animals and dangerous goods (ADR).
