Austria to introduce a green pass

A similar measure has been obligatory for all Italian workers since the 15th of October.

he Austrian government has informed that from the 1st of November all employees who come into contact with other people will have to present a green pass, which is essentially the same as the EU Covid Certificate (UCC). It can be obtained by anyone who:
– has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (EU countries decide whether full vaccination or only one dose is required; Poland requires full vaccination, Italy – only one dose at least 15 days before the pass is issued),
– have tested negative for COVID-19 (using an antigen or a PCR test),
– have recovered from COVID-19 (UCC will be valid from day 11 to day 180 after a positive test result).
The obligation is to apply to everyone who has contact with other people in their daily work – for example in offices. However, it will not apply to truck drivers who are alone in their vehicle. Both the employer and the employee will be responsible for compliance with the measure. Specific regulations are to be published in the coming days and the transition period will last until November 14. All persons without the Green Pass have to wear an FFP2 mask.
