Updated COVID-19 requirements for drivers travelling to Norway
According to the new requirements, introduced last Friday, a negative test result has to be presented before entering the country and more people are obliged to get tested and register their arrival after entering the country.
Persons involved in commercial transport of goods and passangers are exempt from the obligation of getting a test before coming to Norway. Professional drivers in international commercial transport are also exempt from the obligation of getting a test after arriving in Norway.
However, according to the new rules, all travelers are obliged to register their arrival in the electronic system. This requirement also applies to professional drivers and includes citizens of Norway as well as foreigners. All people visiting Norway have to present a confirmation of registration and, if necessary, a COVID certificate during a police check.
