Tyrol extends truck bans on A12, A13 and A14 – new dates added

Austria has updated regulations on traffic bans for heavy goods vehicles due to the renovation of the Lueg Bridge on the A13 motorway (Brennerautobahn). The changes were introduced by Regulation No. 70 of March 27, 2026.

The new rules do not introduce new systemic measures but supplement the existing ban calendar with additional days.

According to the amendment, the following dates have been added:
❌ Applies to sections A12 Inntal, A13 Brenner and A14 Rheintal/Walgau, if the destination is reaching the state border (towards Italy) via the section from the Nößlach interchange to Brenner Nord:
◾ Saturday, October 3, 2026 (07:00–15:00)
→ extension of the summer ban period (previously until September 26)
◾ Friday, April 3, 2026 (07:00–22:00)
→ new weekday included in the ban (previously only April 2)

❌ Applies to section A13 Brenner between Brenner Nord and Nößlach towards Innsbruck:
◾ Saturday, April 4, 2026 (07:00–15:00)
→ new restriction day in the northbound direction (Brenner → Innsbruck)

The change affects two critical periods:

Easter 2026: a sequence of restrictions from April 2–4, effectively blocking transit through Brenner during a key logistics period.
Summer season: extension of bans into early October.

Exemptions from the above restrictions remain unchanged.
