Czech Republic closes D2 after truck rollover. Detour via Hodonín/Holíč
The D2 motorway towards Brno has been completely closed at km 49.5 following a truck accident. The vehicle overturned and blocked all lanes of traffic. Police have designated a detour route through Slovakia and the Hodonín/Holíč border crossing.
The D2 motorway in the Czech Republic was fully closed towards Brno at the 49.5-kilometre mark. According to the Police of the Czech Republic, the disruption will last at least several hours. The closure was caused by a truck that overturned onto the roadway and blocked all traffic lanes. The incident has completely halted traffic towards Brno, which is significant for carriers operating between the Czech Republic and Slovakia as well as along the north–south corridor in Central Europe.
Police have set up a diversion route running through Slovak territory. Vehicles are being redirected along an alternative route and then return to the Czech Republic via the Hodonín/Holíč border crossing.
