From 16 March: disruptions for trucks at the Czech border
From 16 March, drivers operating transport between Poland and the Czech Republic must prepare for disruptions in the area of the Náchod – Kudowa-Zdrój border crossing. On the Czech side, construction of a new roundabout will begin on road I/33 (E67), which means lane reductions and, from May, alternating one-way traffic.
From 16 March 2026, drivers and carriers performing international transport must expect serious disruptions in the area of the Polish-Czech border crossing Náchod – Kudowa-Zdrój (Słone). Construction of a new roundabout will start on the Czech section of road I/33 (E67). The investment will be carried out in two stages and will last until mid-June 2026. The works will be conducted without a complete road closure; however, temporary traffic organization will be introduced. This means lane narrowing and, in the second stage, alternating traffic controlled by traffic lights or manually.
Particularly during peak hours and periods of increased transit traffic towards the state border, traffic jams should be expected. This section forms an important part of the international E67 corridor, used for transport between Poland and the Czech Republic and further towards southern Europe. Detailed traffic management solutions will be published before the start of each stage.
Work schedule
❌ Stage I: 16 March – 3 May 2026
Traffic reduced to two lanes (two-way traffic maintained).
❌ Stage II: 4 May – 14 June 2026
Traffic reduced to one lane – alternating traffic introduced.
The Kudowa-Słone – Náchod crossing is one of the main transit border points between Poland and the Czech Republic, with heavy truck traffic. During the planned construction works and related traffic restrictions, there is a real risk of disruptions to freight transport, especially during peak hours.
Recommended alternatives for heavy goods vehicles:
• Jakuszyce – Harrachov border crossing (national road No. 3) – indicated as the main alternative crossing for trucks on Poland–Czech routes.
• Cieszyn – Český Těšín (passenger and freight traffic)
• Chałupki – Bohumín (freight traffic)
