Catalonia – Reinstatement of Permanent Truck Ban on N-340
The Catalan Traffic Service (SCT) has announced the reinstatement of the permanent traffic ban for heavy goods vehicles over 26 tons on the N-340 road, following the containment of the wildfire situation in the Terres de l’Ebre region.
Due to the spread of the fire, the Fire Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya ordered the complete closure of the C-12 road near Rasquera – a key transportation route in the area. As a result, all truck traffic was diverted to the TV-3022 road, a local route with limited capacity. To prevent traffic gridlock, the authorities decided to temporarily lift the ban on heavy trucks using the N-340 road, which serves as one of the main alternative routes in the region.
Now that the emergency has been resolved, the restriction has been reimposed.
