
France lifts some HGV driving bans
By virtue of a decree issued on April 28, the French General Directorate for Infrastructure, has suspended driving bans for vehicles over 7.5 tonnes on certain days in May under certain conditions.
✅ The ban will be lifted for all types of vehicles transporting goods that return empty after unloading, on Friday 30 April until 00:00. As regards deliveries of all goods commenced before the ban normally comes into effect and continuing as empty runs of lorries returning to their base, the bans will be lifted on 1st and 8th of May.
✅ From 8 p.m on May 1 to 10:00 a.m on May 2 – the HGV driving ban for HGVs is suspended in order to enable deliveries of essential products (food for people and animals, pharmacies and garden centers). Empty runs of these vehicles after unloading are permitted until midnight on Sunday, 2 May.
✅ From 4:00 p.m. on May 7, to 12:00 on 8 May – the HGV driving ban for HGVs is suspended in order to enable deliveries of essential products (food for people and animals, pharmacies and garden centers). Empty runs of these vehicles after unloading are permitted until midnight on Sunaday, May 8.
